This wonderful news comes to us from Kochi, Kerala.
We all know how Kerala is suffering from the floods. When a group of volunteers approached Noushad, a street vendor in Kochi for helping the people living in relief camps, the good soul donated nearly 10 sacks of new clothes. What was even more important was the fact that Noushad had kept aside the clothes for the festival sale before Eid.
Noushad never thought twice and opened the sealed bundles of new clothes which were stacked in his godown for Eid sale. The clothes will go to the distressed people who are living in relief camps after they lost everything in the landslides and floods in Kerala.
Noushad was proactive in stuffing a huge share of his apparel that was put in huge carry bags. Noushad himself took the bags down to the waiting vehicles so that they can be taken to the relief camps.
We live in times when people will give their used clothes and a small amount of their savings towards helping the needy, but Noushad has set a sparkling example for everyone by donating nearly all his earnings to help bring a smile to the faces of the people that he neither knows nor will meet.
The video of Noushad, in his 40’s who is busy packing his donated clothes in the godown and helping the volunteers to transport the bounty to the parked vehicles has nearly broken the internet.
When Noushad was busy stuffing new clothes into carry bags, the volunteers told him that he was donating too much and that it might affect his festival sales.
Noushad replied by saying “When we depart from this world, we cannot carry anything. My profit is to help the needy, isn’t this the way we should celebrate Eid?”
Further, Noushad said that the clothes were meant for the poor people and that he was not bothered about profit or loss.
Many notable persons in the state shared the video of the noble vendor on Facebook and have lavished praise on Noushad for his selfless act. State Health Minister K. K. Shylaja posted an Eid greeting on social media while sharing Noushad’s words and words.
