This uplifting news comes to us from New Zealand.
Alan Langdon and his daughter Que were traveling from Kawhia to the Bay of Islands situated off the coast of New Zealand when a storm came along and damaged the rudder of their yacht.
An international search got underway for locating them and was recently called off after the father-daughter duo sailed their damaged yacht 1,200 miles from New Zealand to Australia.
Alan and Que were floating at sea as the tides pushed them further south towards Australia. With the weather playing truant, experienced sailor Alan decided that it would be safer to direct the craft towards Sydney instead of braving the waters closer to New Zealand.
The father and daughter duo arrived safely in Australia one month later, much to the relief of friends and family.
